Intematix Taps Peter Larsson as Chief Executive Officer
March 5, 2007... Fremont, California, USA – March 4, 2007 – Solid state lighting phosphor and material discovery expert, Intematix Corp, today announced the selection of Peter Larsson as Chief Executive Officer. Most recently having served as VP and General Manager of device networking manufacturer Echelon Corporation, of San Jose, California, Mr. Larsson brings with him 22 years experience in technology management with the last 12 in senior management roles.
According to Intematix co-founder and Display & Lighting Business Unit General Manger, Dr. Yi-Qun Li, “Peter has an enviable track record of success in sales and marketing, as well as in mergers and acquisitions from both sides of the negotiating table. His experience at Raychem, with worldwide P&L responsibilities of $225M and 500 employees, followed by his leadership in the more entrepreneurial environment at MTC, demonstrated that Peter possesses the skills needed to take Intematix to the next level.”
Larsson spent 18 years with Fortune 500 material science company Raychem Corporation, including business development roles in the Telecommunications and Energy Sector and as General Manager of Raychem’s Commercial and Industrial Division. Following Raychem, Larsson joined MTC, a provider of networked metering technologies, as Chief Operating Officer, and later serving as CEO where he negotiated two rounds of venture capital investment, and led the company through its successful merger and integration with Echelon. He holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and is the holder of 7 patents.
"Peter's accomplishments and understanding of the energy industry will compliment Intematix' emerging programs in solar and fuel cell technologies," confirms Intematix co-founder and Chief Scientist, Dr. Xiao-Dong Xiang. "Given the global awareness of the importance of alternative energy development, these technologies will be a key part of our growth strategies in the coming years."
“Intematix is extremely well positioned for a prominent role in several transformative technology arenas, including solid state lighting, medical instrumentation and fuel cells,” stated Mr. Larsson. “Having been directly responsible for close to $100M in sales while at Echelon, I understand the process of developing the internal team, financial and customer relationships that will propel Intematix to that level, and beyond. This will be an enjoyable challenge.”
