Jennifer Fonstad

Jennifer Fonstad is a Managing Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Her current Board responsibilities include NanoCoolers (chip cooling devices), Nantero (carbon nanotube-based DRAM), Groxis (visual search software), Intematix (high-throughput synthesis and screening of technology-enabling materials), Ipedo (software-based data cache solution), and Troika Networks (storage area networking).

Jennifer also led the firm’s investment in Athenahealth (eHealth services), Ember (wireless mesh network), Luminus Devices (solid state lighting), and Molecular Imprints (nano-imprint lithography). Previous investments include United Online (NASDAQ: UNTD), Achex (acquired by First Data Corp - FDC), and iShip (acquired by Stamps - STMP). She speaks frequently at industry conferences and writes often for industry publications (click here for her columns).

Jen began her career with Bain and Company after spending a year teaching in sub-Sahara Africa. She graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown University, holds an MBA with Distinction from the Harvard Business School, and is a former Kauffman Fellow.

 

Alain Harrus

Alain has spent more than 25 years in the semiconductor industry as a technologist and an investor in high-growth early-stage companies. He began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories' advanced materials development group where he developed thermal and plasma processes for thin film dielectrics deposition for semiconductor device manufacturing.

From there, Alain joined Novellus Systems, leaving briefly to join Lam Research as director of deposition technology in the chemical vapor deposition business unit. Throughout his tenure at Novellus, his roles ranged from director of technology for dielectrics to director of strategic marketing, where he championed the company's pursuit of a total copper metallization solution for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.In February 1996, he became Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Novellus, chartered with evaluating new technologies and opportunities designed to fuel Novellus' growth in target markets.

Before joining Crosslink, Alain was a General Partner at Compass Technology Partners investing in technology-intensive, early stage companies. BS in Mathematics and MS in Physics, from the University of Paris XI at Orsay, France. Ph.D. in Experimental Solid State Physics, from Temple University in Philadelphia.

 

Kenneth Choi

Ken Choi was the founding partner of East Gate Capital Management, focusing his investment activity in the Internet, fabless semiconductor and wireless sectors.  He serves in board of director roles at 3cim, GCT, Intematix, Xalted and YesVideo.

Prior to East Gate, Ken was a portfolio manager of publicly traded securities at Pacific Gemini Partners and Sit/Kim International Investment Associates, Inc. He was responsible for asset allocation analysis, researching internationally listed securities, trading and preparing performance analyses for over $800m in global equity and fixed income funds. Ken started his investment career at Citibank, N.A. in both the New York and Seoul offices.

He completed an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business, has a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University and a B.S. in Engineering from Seoul National University.
